Senior Genetic Counselor
Lisa Kinsley graduated from the genetic counseling program at Northwestern University in 2009 and was certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling in 2010. She provides research and clinical support to the Neurology department of Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
She provides clinical counseling for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Les Turner/Lois Insolia ALS, Epilepsy, and Movement Disorders genetic clinics, as well as for patients in the Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease Center. She also acts as a resource to the ALS and neuromuscular community, having written several resources for patients and healthcare professionals.
Lisa is also a faculty member of Northwestern University’s Genetic Counseling program. She supervises students who come to Northwestern’s neurology rotation, lectures for the program, and advises students thesis projects.
In her spare time, she writes children’s books, runs too many 5Ks, and volunteers with her therapy dog, Moo.
